When things are going well…
The path of life is not always smooth and may lead through unexpected terrain. It is often invaluable to talk to someone who is able to function as an external point of reference. A trained counsellor, distanced from a situation, will often see things that may not be otherwise apparent. Counselling can build strength during good times.
…and when it’s not so easy…
The way ahead often seems clear until the journey is underway. Sometimes the path becomes treacherous and unstable, leading to a terrifying place where the heart aches and the brain feels as though caught in a cyclone. A skilled counsellor can help to uncover the place where hope is buried; to find strength and a safe place to stand.
…counselling can help.
Counselling provides a confidential and non-judgemental space in which to reflect on life and find a way forward. Whatever the changes in life, or the challenges, it is rarely productive or helpful to walk alone.
Counselling is for anyone, at any time.

About Me
Hi, I’m Dawn, a qualified counsellor, registered with PACFA and CCAA. As someone aged “over 50”, I have lived through the ups and downs of life and have experienced enough personal trauma to keep me from naïve idealism. My passion is to help others as they navigate the next steps in their journey.

My Approach
I am aware that people differ greatly from each other, and therefore what is helpful to one person may not be helpful to another. However, I favour and primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Services
Face-to-face counselling is available in the Brisbane suburb of Carindale. I welcome adults, adolescents, and children over six years old. For adults, there is the additional option of online counselling via a secure video link. Counselling by means of telephone or text-messaging are not preferred, but may be offered where other methods are not feasible.
